Hyderabad: Despite repeated warnings from law enforcement agencies, drunk driving incidents continue to rise in the city. The latest data from the Cyberabad Police indicate that 368 cases of drunk driving were registered within just 14 to 15 days under the Cyberabad Commissionerate limits.
Among the police jurisdictions, the highest number of cases were recorded in:
– Miyapur Traffic Police Station – 38 cases
– Balanagar Police Station – 37 cases
– Rajendranagar Police Station – 30 cases
– Narsingi Police Station – 27 cases
Of the total cases, 308 involved two-wheelers, while 46 were related to four-wheelers, according to officials.
Young Adults Account for Most Violations
The majority of those caught for drunk driving were young adults:
– 135 offenders were aged 21-30 years
– 129 offenders were aged 31-40 years
Traffic police confirmed that all 368 offenders were male. Officials reiterated that extensive drunk driving checks are being conducted across the city, warning that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
