The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet is transitioning to paperless meetings under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is known for his proactive use of technology. As part of this initiative, the Chief Minister has directed that iPads be provided to all ministers. This move aims to revive the paperless e-Cabinet meetings that were previously conducted during his tenure.
Traditionally, Cabinet meetings have required the printing of at least 40 sets of documents for discussion, creating a significant logistical and financial burden. The shift to paperless meetings will eliminate the need for these extensive printouts. Ministers will now access and communicate all necessary information through their iPads during meetings.
The government anticipates substantial cost savings on printing expenses with this transition. Additionally, the e-Cabinet system is expected to enhance the security of Cabinet proceedings, reducing the risk of sensitive information being leaked.
