The filing of a case against prominent industrialist Gautam Adani in the United States has stirred significant controversy across India. In response, BRS Working President KTR addressed the issue, alleging that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been complicit in facilitating the expansion of Adani’s business empire in Telangana.
Speaking at a media conference at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, KTR questioned the timing and motives behind Adani’s involvement in Telangana. He remarked, “During the ten years BRS was in power, the Adani Group did not enter Telangana. Did Revanth introduce Adani to the state without the knowledge of the Congress high command? MoUs were signed with an investment of Rs. 12,400 crores, and efforts were made to hand over power projects to Adani. Additionally, a donation of Rs. 100 crores was made to the Skill University. Businessmen do not make such large donations for free, as Rahul Gandhi pointed out. A national party like Congress should have a national policy. If Kenya can cancel their agreements with Adani, why is the Telangana government not doing the same? If Rahul Gandhi is sincere, he should push for the cancellation of these agreements in Telangana,” KTR demanded.

The controversy surrounding Adani has escalated further with new allegations in the U.S. A Federal Court in New York has filed charges stating that the Adani Group bribed officials in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chhattisgarh with $265 million (Rs. 2,238 crores) to secure solar power projects.
The charges have led to cases against Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani, a senior executive at Adani Green Energy, and six others, with arrest warrants issued by the U.S. court. The White House has also responded to the issue, expressing confidence that both India and the U.S. can resolve the crisis.
