Hyderabad: BRS Executive President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has launched a scathing critique of the state government’s caste-based survey, labeling it a flawed and unscientific exercise. KTR accused the government of reducing the state’s backward caste (BC) population by 5.5%, misrepresenting over 22 lakh individuals as non-existent. He demanded an apology from Revanth Reddy, accusing him of deliberately downplaying BC figures. KTR compared the previous caste survey by the Congress government to “scrap paper.”

During a meeting at Telangana Bhavan with party leaders and workers, KTR called for an immediate resurvey to rectify the data. He reaffirmed BRS’s commitment to securing justice for BCs and criticized Congress for failing to honor its promises on BC reservations, vowing to continue advocating for BC welfare.

In response, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud defended the caste survey, asserting that it was conducted transparently and scientifically. He stated that over 100,000 personnel were involved to ensure accuracy. Goud accused KTR of making baseless accusations without evidence and claimed that the Congress government conducted the survey under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi.

Goud also criticized KTR for his absence during the initial survey and labeled his demands for a resurvey as contradictory. He accused the BRS government of neglecting BC welfare during its tenure, and dismissed KTR’s remarks on BC issues as laughable given the party’s track record.
