Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by the Supreme Court following his arrest in the liquor policy case. Recently, Kejriwal has been released from jail after spending nearly six months behind bars. To welcome him, a large group of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters gathered outside Tihar Jail.
Upon his release, Kejriwal made several significant statements. He said, “Today, I have come out of jail. My courage has increased by 100 times. The walls of the jail cannot weaken Kejriwal’s spirit. I pray to God to continue guiding me on the right path. I will continue my fight against all forces trying to destabilize the country and create divisions among the people. I have faced many challenges in my life, and God has always been with me at every stage. It is because I am honest that God has protected me once again.”
On March 21 of this year, Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case related to the liquor policy. Since then, he has been held in Tihar Jail. Recently, the Supreme Court also granted bail to Delhi’s former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and BRS MLC Kavitha in connection with the same case. With this development, AAP supporters were hopeful for Kejriwal’s release, and the Supreme Court eventually granted bail on Thursday with certain conditions, including a bail bond of ₹10 lakh and two sureties.
