US–Iran Nuclear Deal Nearing Completion as Tehran Agrees to Surrender Enriched Uranium

In a significant diplomatic development, Tehran has reportedly agreed to a landmark agreement with the United States (US–Iran Deal), according to White House sources. The proposed deal marks a major breakthrough in long-standing negotiations, with Iran agreeing to relinquish its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. US President Donald Trump stated on Saturday that a formal agreement between the two nations could be finalized soon.

The key sticking point in recent negotiations had been Iran’s enriched uranium reserves. As per International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reports, Iran currently holds around 440 kg of uranium enriched up to 60 percent. Security experts warn that this level of enrichment could be further processed to weapons-grade 90 percent within weeks, potentially enabling the production of over ten nuclear warheads. The majority of these materials are believed to be stored in heavily secured underground facilities at Iran’s Isfahan nuclear complex.

Under the emerging framework, Iran has agreed to surrender its enriched uranium, although the final mechanism for its disposal remains under discussion. Diplomatic sources indicate multiple options are being considered, including transfer to Russia, handover to the United States or an UN-supervised international consortium, or conversion within Iran to a lower enrichment level unsuitable for weaponization. The final decision is expected after the formal signing of the agreement.

Reports also suggest that Pakistan played a behind-the-scenes mediating role in facilitating the renewed dialogue, following a visit by Army Field Marshal Asim Munir to Iran, which is said to have contributed to easing tensions. In parallel, Iran is reportedly pushing for recognition of its strategic interests over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy transit route, as part of broader negotiations aimed at restoring regional stability.

Despite progress in talks, President Trump issued a strong warning that any violation of the agreement would trigger severe consequences, including potential military action. Following recent security concerns near the White House, US authorities have further tightened national security measures. Analysts view Iran’s willingness to part with its enriched uranium as a potentially historic step toward reducing long-standing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
