New Delhi: Ten days after the BJP secured victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the party has yet to announce its chief ministerial candidate. AAP leader and caretaker Chief Minister Atishi criticized the delay, alleging that the BJP lacks a capable leader to govern the state.
Atishi claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no confidence in any of the 48 BJP MLAs elected in Delhi, which is why the party has not named its candidate. She questioned how the BJP could work for the people’s development if it is struggling to finalize a leader.

Meanwhile, sources indicate that the swearing-in ceremony for the new Chief Minister is scheduled for February 20 at 4:30 PM, with several ministers also expected to take the oath.
Parvesh Verma, who defeated AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency, is reportedly the frontrunner for the CM post. Other contenders include Vijender Gupta, Satish Upadhyay, Ashish Sood, and Pawan Sharma.
Additionally, the BJP is considering appointing two Deputy Chief Ministers, following the model implemented in states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
In the recently concluded elections, the BJP won 48 out of 70 seats, marking its return to power in Delhi after 27 years. The AAP secured 22 seats, while Congress failed to win a single seat for the third consecutive time.
