Israeli forces have reportedly dealt another significant blow to Hamas in Gaza with the killing of Muhammad Odeh, identified as one of the group’s senior military commanders. According to Israeli authorities, the airstrike was carried out in a densely populated market area in Gaza City where Odeh was believed to be present at the time of the operation.
The strike reportedly resulted in the immediate death of Muhammad Odeh along with several members of his family, including his wife, son, and daughter, as well as another woman. The attack in a crowded civilian area triggered panic among residents, according to local reports.
Israel has officially confirmed the operation, stating that the strike was part of its ongoing campaign targeting senior Hamas leadership. The military objective, according to Israeli sources, is to systematically eliminate key commanders involved in planning and executing attacks against Israel.

The development comes shortly after reports of the killing of another senior Hamas military figure, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, earlier this month. With multiple high-ranking operatives being eliminated in recent operations, Hamas’ military leadership is believed to be facing increasing pressure and disruption.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated that Israel will continue its operations against Hamas leadership in the wake of the October 7, 2023 attacks. He has maintained that those responsible will be pursued and eliminated, with the latest strikes viewed as part of this broader military strategy.
