Residents of Ameenpur approached Hyderabad Commissioner AV Ranganath on Friday, voicing concerns over alleged fraud in their land purchases. The complainants reported that they had acquired plots from Madhav Reddy, Chandrasekhar, and Koteswara Rao, who allegedly presented approvals under survey number 6 but sold plots from government land listed under survey number 12. They requested the commissioner’s intervention to obtain compensation from the sellers, who they claimed sold the plots despite revoked permissions, leading to significant losses.
Encroachment and Water Overflow Concerns Raised
Responding to these complaints, Commissioner Ranganath assured residents of a comprehensive survey to ensure justice. Some residents additionally reported that the outlets of Pedda Cheruvu lake in Ameenpur Mandal were blocked, causing overflow into their properties. They stated that instead of flowing downstream to Bandikunta Cheruvu lake, water accumulated in their lands, leading to property damages.
Calls for Survey and Layout Preservation
Further complaints from residents of Venkataramana Colony in Ameenpur Mandal highlighted encroachments within a HUDA-approved layout in survey number 153. They claimed that a park area within this layout was being occupied by new ventures, disrupting access to designated open spaces and roads. According to residents, the land had been initially purchased from Bhawar Lal Jain in 1987, but his son Mahaveer Jain had allegedly sold off the approved park area. Commissioner Ranganath committed to a full survey to resolve these encroachment concerns and safeguard the rights of affected residents.
