Iran witnessed large-scale pro-government demonstrations on Monday amid continuing unrest triggered by an economic crisis and prolonged protests across the country. The agitation has so far led to the deaths of more than 500 people in clashes between protesters and security forces, raising serious concerns at the international level.
In a show of support for the administration, the Iranian government mobilised hundreds of thousands of supporters to take to the streets. In the capital Tehran, massive crowds gathered at Enghelab Square, where President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi participated in the rally. Similar demonstrations were organised in cities including Kerman, Rasht and Zahedan, reflecting a coordinated nationwide effort.
Visuals of the rallies have been widely circulated on social media, highlighting the scale of the mobilisation. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated that the situation in Iran is fully under control, asserting that the government has stabilised internal conditions despite ongoing tensions.
