An Indian vessel in the Gulf of Oman was reportedly targeted in a US military strike, resulting in the deaths of three Indian sailors. The ship was carrying 24 Indian crew members, of whom 21 were rescued. According to reports, the US military stated that the vessel was attacked after it allegedly failed to comply with instructions issued by American forces. Officials also claimed that the tanker was transporting oil from Iran.
The US Central Command reportedly confirmed that a precision missile strike was carried out on the ship’s engine room by a military aircraft. The attack triggered a major fire onboard, causing the vessel to sink. Reports indicate that crew members sent distress calls following the strike, but immediate assistance was not provided before the ship went down.
