Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has given key instructions regarding the issuance of new ration cards in Telangana. During a review meeting with senior officials from the Food and Civil Supplies and Irrigation Departments, the CM discussed various designs for the new cards and instructed immediate arrangements for approval and distribution.

The CM emphasized that all eligible families should receive ration cards, and families who have already applied should not be required to submit multiple applications. He also directed officials to raise awareness among the public to prevent confusion. In districts where the election code is not in effect, steps should be taken promptly to issue ration cards.

The meeting was attended by Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, and other senior officials. Currently, the election code is in effect in several districts, including Medak, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda. However, the election code is not applicable in Rangareddy, Hyderabad, and Mahabubnagar districts, where the issuance of new ration cards can proceed.
