Hyderabad: Newly appointed AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan arrived in Hyderabad on Friday. Congress leaders extended a warm welcome at Kachiguda Railway Station, with TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud receiving her upon arrival.
Shortly after reaching Hyderabad, Natarajan met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accompanied by ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Konda Surekha. She recently replaced Deepa Das Munshi as the Telangana Congress in-charge.
Her tenure begins amid growing internal divisions within the Telangana Congress. Reports of secret meetings among MLAs and complaints against ministers have reached the party high command. Additionally, despite being in power for over a year, the Cabinet expansion remains pending.
With local body elections approaching, Natarajan faces the challenge of steering the party to victory amid rising public discontent. Strengthening the party and ensuring better coordination among ministers will be key priorities as the Congress prepares to counter a strong opposition.
