Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that even US President Donald Trump is copying the guarantee schemes being implemented by the Congress government, stating that these welfare schemes have earned strong popularity among the people.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, Shivakumar said that the welfare guarantee schemes implemented by the Congress government have become a “blockbuster.” He referred to Trump’s recent announcement that if Republicans continue to hold majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate following the midterm elections in the US in November, he would give $5,000 to every adult American, comparing this promise to the guarantee schemes being implemented by the Congress government in Karnataka.
Trump once again floated his proposal to give every adult in the country a $5,000 dividend if Republicans win the elections, stating that the US government is collecting large amounts of revenue, making it easy to give this money back to the people.
Speaking to reporters in Ireland on Sunday, Trump said, according to news agencies, that this would be easy if Republicans win, that every adult in the country could be given $5,000, and that since the country is generating substantial revenue, the amount could be easily arranged.
Trump first announced this proposal at a Republican Party meeting held in Dallas, stating that America is generating trillions of dollars in revenue and floating the idea of distributing a portion of that money to the public in the form of payments.
