Hyderabad: A minor stampede occurred at the ongoing Peddagattu Jatara in Telangana on Tuesday, causing brief panic among devotees. The incident took place near the Banyan tree area, close to a police checkpoint, when a municipal garbage tractor arrived, triggering a rush among attendees.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties or major injuries were reported, though children faced some distress during the commotion. Police and security personnel swiftly intervened, restoring order at the site.
The Peddagattu Jatara, known for its large gatherings, is being conducted on a grand scale this year, with thousands of devotees in attendance.
