The Labour Party secured a commanding victory in Britain’s general election, positioning its leader Keir Starmer to assume the role of Prime Minister of the UK. Reacting to the Labour Party’s triumph, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Keir Starmer, expressing readiness to collaborate closely with the UK to bolster bilateral ties.
“Heartiest congratulations to Keir Starmer on his landslide victory in the UK parliamentary elections,” Modi stated. “I look forward to our positive and constructive cooperation to further strengthen our strategic partnership in all spheres to enhance mutual growth and prosperity between India and the UK.”
Modi also conveyed appreciation to Indian-origin Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the Conservative Party, despite his electoral loss, recognizing Sunak’s commendable leadership and efforts in fostering India-UK relations.
