The Revanth Reddy-led Telangana government is reportedly preparing to file a case against former Chief Minister KCR over alleged irregularities in the establishment and operation of the Yadadri and Bhadradri thermal power plants during the previous BRS administration. According to sources, the Justice Madan B. Lokur Commission, which investigated these allegations, submitted a report to the state government on October 28, highlighting potential misconduct in these projects and in power purchases from Chhattisgarh. The commission’s findings reportedly attribute decision-making responsibility to KCR.
Further, sources suggest that the case may also involve former Power Minister Jagadish Reddy. The Lokur Commission has advised the government to file a case and pursue a deeper investigation into the alleged irregularities. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is expected to review the commission’s findings shortly, with discussions potentially planned in the upcoming Assembly session.

Earlier, an investigative commission was formed under Justice L. Narasimha Reddy to probe the alleged misconduct in the power projects. Notices were issued to KCR to appear before the commission, to which he responded in writing. Following media remarks, KCR filed a case against Justice Narasimha Reddy in the Supreme Court, which ultimately led to the judge’s withdrawal from the inquiry.
The inquiry was then reassigned to Justice Madan B. Lokur, whose commission has now completed its term and handed over its report to the government. As political circles await CM Revanth Reddy’s decision, there is growing speculation over the possibility of KCR facing legal consequences if found accountable.
