New Delhi: A protest demanding the formation of a dedicated Men’s Rights Commission was held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Saturday. Organized by the Save India Family organization, the event saw over 1,000 participants, including representatives from 40 NGOs advocating for men’s rights. Among the attendees were around 100 individuals from the Telugu-speaking states, as well as the families of men who had died or committed suicide due to domestic abuse by their wives.
The protest, dubbed ‘Purush Satyagraha,’ called for the establishment of a commission similar to the Women’s Commission to address the rising instances of domestic violence and harassment faced by men. Participants highlighted the growing concern of men suffering from violence, sexual harassment, and false accusations, which, in some tragic cases, have led to suicides.
