PCC Chief Y.S. Sharmila has expressed strong condemnation over inappropriate and offensive posts circulating on social media. In a recent statement, Sharmila accused certain individuals and political parties of corrupting the platform, which should be used for societal good, by engaging in vulgar and unethical behavior. She criticized the disregard for human and family relationships, highlighting the absence of respect for women, and called out individuals for behaving without awareness or decency.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sharmila stated, “In the state, certain individuals have gained perverse pleasure from posting offensive and distorted content about women who question them. As a victim of these social media psychopaths, I demand stringent action against those who post indecent content for twisted satisfaction. Posts have been made against me, my mother, and Suneetha. I have been insulted by claims that I wasn’t born to Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and that my family name has been changed.”

Further addressing the issue, Sharmila revealed that she had filed a police case against Varra Ravinder Reddy, who allegedly posted defamatory comments about her. She expressed support for the arrest of such individuals and stressed the need for action against those posting anarchic content, regardless of their political affiliation. She called on the coalition government to take consistent and strict action to prevent further character assassination on social media.
