Visakhapatnam: A disturbing case of sexual assault has come to light, involving a law student from a college in the Madhurawada area. According to reports, the victim, a young woman studying law, was allegedly raped by a fellow student, Vamsi, who had befriended her under the pretense of marriage. In August, Vamsi reportedly took her to Kambalakonda, where he assaulted her.
The ordeal continued as Vamsi took the victim to his friend’s residence in Dabagarden, where the assault was repeated. Subsequently, three of Vamsi’s friends—Anand, Rajesh, and Jagadeesh—allegedly participated in a gang rape, filming the entire incident. The accused then threatened the victim, demanding compliance and warning her of the consequences of releasing the videos.
The victim, who was also subjected to severe mental distress, attempted suicide. Her parents intervened, upon noticing her emotional turmoil, and the victim revealed the details of the assault. Following this, a formal complaint was lodged at the Two Town Police Station.
The police have since registered a case and arrested the four accused, who were remanded in custody. Investigations are ongoing.
