Hydra is advancing its efforts to demolish structures encroaching on ponds and government lands in Hyderabad. The demolition operation now targets the Fatima Colleges, which are reportedly situated in the buffer zone of Sakalam Cheruvu. The colleges, consisting of 12 floors, are currently facing dismantling as part of the broader campaign.
At present, Hydra’s demolition equipment is designed to handle structures up to 7 floors high. Authorities are awaiting a new assessment to determine the next course of action and are working to acquire equipment capable of demolishing up to 15 floors at a time. An inspection report on the Fatima College buildings has already been completed.
Meanwhile, satellite images of the colleges have gone viral on social media, showing that the buildings appear to be located within the pond area.
