In a major breakthrough, police confirmed that the two suspects involved in the shooting at Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s residence were killed in an encounter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Officials said the duo had links with an international criminal gang. The exchange of fire took place around 3:45 a.m. when the suspects opened fire on police while resisting arrest. The operation was jointly carried out by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) Noida unit and the Delhi Police Crime Intelligence (CI) unit. The accused were identified as Ravindra from Rohtak and Arun from Sonipat.

The shooting had occurred on September 12 when Disha Patani’s parents, sister Khushboo Patani, and her father, a retired police commissioner, were present at home. The Goldy Brar Gang claimed responsibility, alleging that Khushboo made objectionable remarks about a Hindu spiritual guru. She later clarified her remarks were misunderstood. Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, strongly condemned the attack and reiterated his zero-tolerance policy on crime, assuring strict action. Within 24 hours, authorities took decisive steps against the accused.
