Hyderabad witnessed high tension in the Musi Riverbank areas as local residents obstructed an eviction survey carried out by authorities. The survey, intended to identify encroachments, faced stiff resistance from locals, some of whom snatched and destroyed survey documents. A heated exchange ensued between the officials and the residents, with the latter blocking attempts to mark boundaries on walls.

The confrontation led to unrest in Kothapet, Maruthi Nagar, and Satya Nagar, forcing officials to retreat without completing the survey. Residents vehemently opposed the eviction, arguing that they have lived in the area for years without experiencing flooding, even during heavy rains. They criticized the authorities for arbitrarily defining full tank levels and buffer zones, asserting that even their ancestors had never witnessed flooding in these neighborhoods. The residents have demanded that the government retract its decision and halt the eviction process.
