In a move to streamline the supply of sand for the construction of Indiramma houses, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to conduct a detailed study on the matter. The review meeting, focused on sand supply for the project, took place at the State Secretariat on Tuesday.
A dedicated study committee has been formed, comprising key officials such as Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary of the Finance Department; N. Sridhar, Chief Secretary of the Mines Department; Shashank, Commissioner of Flagship Programs; and Sushil Kumar, Managing Director of TG MDC. The committee is tasked with completing the study within a week and submitting a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations.

The state government is set to begin the construction of a large number of Indiramma houses, prompting the need for a well-organized approach to sand supply. CM Revanth Reddy has emphasized the importance of providing sand at reasonable prices to beneficiaries, addressing concerns over higher costs faced by consumers.
Despite the rise in construction activities, the government has not seen the expected revenue from sand sales. The CM directed officials to take stringent measures against the sand mafia to ensure proper regulation.
Additionally, officials were questioned regarding the lack of revenue collection from fines imposed on major and minor mineral mines. The CM instructed the committee to conduct a thorough review of the current policies and submit a report within two weeks.
The meeting was attended by Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, CM Advisor V. Narendra Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanta Kumari, V. Sheshadri, and Manik Raj, among others.
