YSR Congress Party (YSRC) chief YS Jagan is facing continuous challenges as party leaders continue to resign. In a significant development, Grandi Srinivas, the former MLA of Bhimavaram, has announced his decision to resign from the party. There are strong indications that he is considering joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). A clear announcement regarding his future party affiliation is expected today.

On the same day, Avanti Srinivas, a former minister in the YSRC government, also submitted his resignation. This comes amid recent IT raids targeting Grandi Srinivas’s residence. IT officials, working under the supervision of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), conducted extensive searches at his residence, office, and the homes of his relatives. The raids lasted approximately five days, during which authorities seized cash and critical documents.

Political Shifts and Resignations

Political circles in the state are abuzz with discussions about Srinivas joining the TDP as a strategic move to escape the ongoing scrutiny and challenges within the YSRC. His decision to resign is seen as an effort to break free from the pressures that have plagued him within the party.

Srinivas’s Discontent with YSRCP

After the elections, Srinivas distanced himself from party activities, maintaining a low profile. Supporters believe he is preparing to join the TDP once internal party matters are resolved. This development follows a recent meeting between former Chief Minister YS Jagan and constituency in-charges, where Srinivas notably remained absent.

Srinivas’s growing discontent with the YSRC leadership began in 2019 when he secured a victory against Pawan Kalyan, the Janasena chief and film star, but was denied a significant position in the party. This incident led to a strained relationship with the YSRC leadership. Despite efforts by senior party leaders to convince him to stay, Srinivas has now made the decision to resign.

Ultimately, Srinivas’s departure from the YSRCP is seen as a crucial political shift, with expectations that his affiliation with the TDP will bring new dynamics to the political landscape in the region.
