Bengaluru: Air Chief Marshal AP Singh disclosed critical details about Operation Sindhoor, the Indian Air Force’s retaliatory strikes against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Speaking at a recent event, he confirmed that six Pakistani fighter jets were shot down during the operation, marking the first official acknowledgment of such damage.
Marshal Singh stated that the operation was meticulously planned and executed within 80 to 90 hours, achieving its objectives decisively. The scale of the strikes conveyed a strong deterrent message to Pakistan, prompting the neighboring country to seek talks, which India agreed to consider.

Highlighting key targets, Marshal Singh noted the Indian Air Force’s successful attacks on Pakistan’s Shahbaz Jacobabad airbase, where more than half of the stationed F-16 fighter jets were damaged. Additionally, other fighter aircraft sustained significant damage. He also commended the performance of the S-400 missile defense system, which played a vital role in the operation’s success.
