The Centre has assigned additional charge of the Education Ministry to Prahlad Joshi, who currently serves as the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He will oversee the affairs of the Education Ministry in addition to his existing portfolios. The key responsibility of effectively managing the crisis stemming from the NEET controversy and restoring trust among students now rests on Prahlad Joshi’s shoulders.
Following the developments after Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, political equations in the national capital, Delhi, shifted rapidly. Speculation intensified over who the new Education Minister would be. At the same time, reports that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had been summoned by the BJP high command became a major talking point, with rumors suggesting that one of them would be inducted into the Union Cabinet and given charge of the Education Ministry, and that Maharashtra’s chief minister could also change as a result.
