The ongoing riots in Bangladesh remain largely uncontrolled, prompting many individuals to seek refuge at the Indian border. In response, the Border Security Force (BSF) has enacted stringent security measures. The BSF has detained 11 Bangladeshi nationals attempting to enter India illegally.
Among those detained, two were apprehended in West Bengal, two in Tripura, and seven at the Meghalaya border. The individuals are currently under interrogation and will be handed over to the police upon completion of questioning.
A video circulating on social media shows several Bangladeshis arriving at the Indian border, where they were stopped by security personnel. An officer explained to the refugees in Bengali why entry into India was not permitted.
“Given the current situation in Bangladesh, although we would like to grant you permission to enter India, we are unable to do so at this time. Resolving such issues requires discussions, and an immediate resolution is not feasible. Please return,” the officer stated. The video has gained significant traction on social media, eliciting various responses from netizens.
