Tollywood actor Ali has decided to resign from the YSRCP and has communicated his decision to party president YS Jagan. In his resignation letter and a subsequent video announcement, Ali cited his return to the film industry after a stint in politics that began in 1999 at the encouragement of Ramanaidu. Initially joining the TDP and later the YSRCP, Ali emphasized his long-standing career in the Telugu film industry, spanning 45 years and encompassing over 1,200 films in multiple languages. He expressed a desire to leverage his influence for public service through politics but clarified that he refrained from criticizing opposition leaders during his tenure. Now, Ali has declared his withdrawal from active political involvement.
Ali’s tenure with the YSRCP saw him actively supporting the party before the 2019 elections. Despite rumors of potential appointments and electoral prospects, including speculations about a potential MLA candidacy in the 2024 elections, Ali’s political ambitions did not materialize as expected. His recent appointment as electronic media advisor to the AP government in 2022 did not lead to further political advancements within the party. Currently, there are discussions and rumors circulating about Ali’s possible future involvement in political alliances or activities outside of the YSRCP.
