Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, convened on Saturday evening at the Secretariat and took several significant decisions, including the launch of new welfare schemes and administrative reforms.
Addressing the media after the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy announced that the Rythu Bharosa scheme and the issuance of new ration cards will come into effect from January 2025. Under the scheme, the government will provide Rs 12,000 annually per acre to farmers, while landless agricultural families will receive Rs 12,000 each year under a new initiative named Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa.
“These schemes will be implemented from January 26, 2025,” the Chief Minister confirmed, adding that the government aims to strengthen the financial stability of both farmers and agricultural laborers through these measures.

The Cabinet also approved the renaming of the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project after former Union Minister Sudini Jaipal Reddy, in recognition of his contributions.
In another key decision, the government sanctioned the recruitment of 588 Forest Beat Officers under the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department. The Cabinet further approved the merger of 56 villages with nearby municipalities to streamline local governance.
The meeting concluded with a focus on accelerating welfare initiatives and addressing administrative needs across Telangana.
