Tensions escalated over the Hyderabad Central University (HCU) land issue as BJP leaders attempted to visit the university on Tuesday. In response, police deployed heavy security near the MLA quarters in Hyderguda, placing several BJP leaders under house arrest. BJP MLAs heading to HCU were stopped by the police, leading to a standoff.
BJP MLA Payal Shankar strongly criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of following the same land policies as former CM KCR. He questioned the government’s decision to sell state-owned lands and assets, arguing that such actions contradict the vision of making Hyderabad a global city. He further alleged that the Congress government was continuing the exploitative policies of the previous administration.

Another BJP MLA, Dhanpal Suryanarayana, accused the Congress of misusing public resources and claimed that Revanth Reddy would eventually sell all state lands before fleeing the country. BJP leaders demanded an immediate halt to land sales and called for a full-scale investigation into the HCU land issue.
