Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday attended the launch of Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya’s autobiography “Prajala Kathe Na Aatmakatha” held at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad. The event was marked by tributes to Dattatreya’s public life, with the Chief Minister hailing him as a statesman respected across political lines.
Revanth Reddy praised Dattatreya’s rise from Gowliguda streets to the office of Governor, describing him as a people’s leader with close ties to the underprivileged. “He participated in even the smallest celebrations of the poor. His journey is truly inspiring,” he said. Drawing parallels with national politics, he added, “If Vajpayee was respected nationally, Dattatreya holds the same regard in Telangana.”

The Chief Minister highlighted his personal association with Dattatreya and Union Minister Kishan Reddy’s families and recalled telling Prime Minister Modi that while he studied in BJP and went to college in TDP, he is now working for Rahul Gandhi. “I never hide my close relationships,” he said.
Despite the Cabinet expansion taking place on the same day, Revanth said he ensured his attendance at the launch. He also noted that the ‘Alai Balai’ event led by Dattatreya was an inspiration for the Telangana movement.
With multiple Governors and ministers in attendance, Revanth humorously remarked that the venue resembled a “Governor’s parade” and quipped that the Congress Cabinet could even hold its meeting there.
