New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the Indian Armed Forces for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, which was launched in retaliation for the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Addressing a Union Cabinet meeting following the strike, Modi said the armed forces had done “a commendable job,” and called it “a proud moment for the entire nation.”

The operation, which targeted nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), is believed to have inflicted significant damage on terror infrastructure. Intelligence reports confirmed the elimination of several militants, including 14 members of the family of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) founder Masood Azhar.

Government sources also revealed that Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu this evening to update her on the security situation. Additionally, it was decided during the Cabinet meeting to hold an all-party meeting on Thursday to discuss national security matters. The meeting will be chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and attended by Home Minister Amit Shah.
