New Delhi: In a decisive retaliation to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India launched airstrikes ‘Operation Sindoor’ at multiple locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the early hours of Wednesday, May 7. The Indian Air Force targeted nine sites across these regions, believed to be terrorist hideouts, in a mission that has reportedly resulted in the deaths of 90 militants. The casualty count may rise as more details emerge.
The attack follows a wave of terrorist activity attributed to Pakistan-based groups. The Indian government has stated that the operation was aimed at neutralizing terrorist threats originating from these territories.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to be personally monitoring the operation closely. The Indian Army emphasized that the strikes were carried out with precision and clarity regarding the targets. It also clarified that no Pakistani military personnel or army infrastructure were attacked.
The joint operation involved both the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force, using missiles to carry out the strikes. After days of warnings, the Indian government has finally taken action.
