New Delhi: In a significant development in the espionage case involving Jyoti Malhotra, Indian authorities have uncovered a covert network linking Indian YouTubers to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) via a former Pakistani police officer.
According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Nasir Dhillon — a former sub-inspector with the Punjab Police in Pakistan and now an active YouTuber — has been instrumental in recruiting sleeper cells across India and facilitating espionage operations for the ISI. Dhillon is also accused of promoting Khalistani propaganda and working as a key intermediary in identifying and assigning tasks to Indian nationals for intelligence-gathering.

Investigators believe Dhillon developed close ties with multiple Indian YouTubers, building relationships before introducing them to ISI operatives. His network allegedly includes hundreds of former Pakistani police officials. The recent arrest of a Punjab-based suspect, Jasbir, has further strengthened the case. Jasbir reportedly revealed that Dhillon arranged a meeting between him and an ISI agent in Lahore, confirming Dhillon’s central role in the recruitment process.
Authorities also found that Dhillon had connections with Jyoti Malhotra, with whom he recorded a podcast. The NIA alleges that Dhillon facilitated introductions between Indian YouTubers and ISI agents and later assigned them tasks involving sensitive information gathering.
The case highlights growing concerns over digital platforms being exploited for cross-border espionage and reinforces the need for vigilance among content creators and digital influencers.
