Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced a significant development for women in the state. In a review meeting held on Saturday at the state secretariat, he revealed that in the upcoming Family Digital Cards (FDC), which will be distributed in two months, women will be recognized as the heads of households. CM Revanth instructed officials to include the names and details of all family members on the back of the card.
The review also included a PowerPoint presentation by officials who had recently toured Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra from September 25 to 27 to study the design and benefits of similar cards in those states. The presentation highlighted the collected data, advantages, and flaws of the cards. Based on the study, CM Revanth provided several directions and suggestions for the Family Digital Cards. He emphasized that household verification should be based on existing data from welfare schemes such as ration cards, Rajiv Aarogyasri, IT, agriculture, and other welfare programs.
