In a bid to alleviate the burden on consumers, Minister Nadendla Manohar has taken decisive steps to reduce the prices of essential commodities in Andhra Pradesh. Following a comprehensive review meeting with rice and tur dal traders from the state, Minister Manohar issued directives aimed at ensuring affordable pricing for rice and toor dal, crucial staples for the common man.

Highlighting the need for fair market practices, Minister Nadendla urged traders to refrain from engaging in activities like black marketing. As part of immediate measures, it was agreed in collaboration with traders to commence the sale of tur dal and rice at rythu bazaars starting May 11th.

In conjunction with this initiative, Minister Nadendla also finalized the retail prices of these commodities for rythu bazaars. Steamed rice will be available at Rs. 49 per kg, while raw rice will be priced at Rs. 48 per kg. Toor dal, another essential, will be sold at Rs. 160 per kg.

Currently, toor dal commands a higher price in the open market at Rs. 181 per kg, while steamed rice is priced at Rs. 55.85 and raw rice at Rs. 52.40 per kg by traders. Minister Manohar’s directives aim to ensure that these staple foods remain accessible to all sections of society, fostering economic relief amidst prevailing market conditions.
