Hydra Commissioner Ranganath has issued a warning regarding fraudulent land sales on the outskirts of Hyderabad, where plots are being marketed as “farm land” under the pretense of government approval. He urged the public to refrain from purchasing plots in unauthorized layouts to avoid legal complications.

According to complaints received through Prajavani, locals reported that land in Rajendranagar Mandal’s Lakshmiguda, specifically Survey No. 50, was being sold as farm land despite lacking official approval. Commissioner Ranganath emphasized that all land sales and layout developments require government authorization, along with the necessary fees. However, several sellers are allegedly bypassing regulations by marketing agricultural land as plots.

As per government regulations, such sales must be conducted in minimum half-acre units rather than smaller plot sizes. This rule was reinforced by a government order in 2018. Despite this, violations continue, and authorities are preparing to take action against those involved.

Ranganath further clarified that, under GO No. 131, no permissions for house construction in unauthorized layouts have been granted since August 31, 2020. He warned that any illegal constructions in such areas would face demolition and urged the public to exercise caution while purchasing land.
