Konda Surekha reacted sharply once again to her removal as minister, alleging that she was dismissed without even being consulted and reiterating that no one had asked her to resign from her post. She insisted that she had committed no wrongdoing and had discharged her responsibilities efficiently over two and a half years as minister.
Surekha noted that three BC women had received government positions because of her, calling it a matter of joy rather than resentment. She went on to criticise Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging that his background in the TDP explained such political conduct, and accused him of playing mind games through leaders such as Vem Narender Reddy. She further claimed that she was being deliberately troubled mentally, and said the action taken against Chinnareddy, whom she described as being targeted alongside her, was unjustified.
Responding to the controversy surrounding remarks made by her daughter, Susmitha, Surekha questioned why she should be expected to condemn her daughter’s personal opinions or be held responsible for them. She pointed out that many people who criticise her express their own views publicly, and asked whether their family members are similarly held accountable whenever they speak.
On her political future, Surekha said she held no attachment to the ministerial post and had never coveted power, stating that she had fulfilled every task that came to her office fairly. She added that she had not yet decided her future course of action, including whether she would continue in the Congress party, and said she would take a decision only after consulting her family members.
Surekha also had pointed words for those who had criticised her over the episode, issuing sharp remarks in response without naming individuals directly.
