Melbourne: Telugu cricketer Nithish Kumar Reddy has made an impressive mark in the ongoing fourth Test match against Australia, scoring his maiden century and setting new records. The 25-year-old batsman’s remarkable performance has earned him widespread recognition in the cricketing world. Reddy’s first-half century, celebrated in “Pushpa” style, quickly went viral on social media, and he followed up with a sensational century that left the Australian bowlers struggling.
Hailing from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, Nithish comes from a humble middle-class family. His passion for cricket began at a young age, often skipping school to play matches. His father, Muthyal Reddy, who worked at Hindustan Zinc, recognized his son’s potential and supported his cricketing dreams. At the age of five, Nithish began playing cricket, and it was at the Hindustan Zinc ground where he started gaining attention for his batting skills.
In a major sacrifice for his son’s career, Muthyal Reddy transferred to Udaipur and gave up his job to ensure Nithish could continue pursuing cricket. This decision, taken with the belief in Nithish’s future success, is a testament to his father’s unwavering support.
