BRS working president KTR stated that no one else in the country has performed as many yagas as former Chief Minister KCR. He said that while divine grace matters, human effort must accompany it as well. However, he launched a scathing attack on the Revanth Reddy government, saying that responsibilities the government itself is duty-bound to fulfill should not be neglected. Speaking to the media in an informal chat, he shared several notable remarks.
KTR alleged that, under the guise of the “Future City” project, CM Revanth Reddy is engaged in large-scale land grabbing, giving away nearly 10,000 acres of valuable land. He charged that farmers are being intimidated into surrendering their lands, and that nearly 1.2 crore acres have been placed on the prohibited list. KTR announced that a large-scale agitation would be launched against the (Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy) HILTP policy starting in September, adding that letters would also be written to industrialists on the matter. He warned that once the BRS returns to power, it would completely scrap this HILTP policy, cautioning that industrialists who invest money trusting the policy stand to suffer losses.
Responding to varuna yagas being performed by Congress leaders, KTR hit out sharply, saying that when Harish Rao visits a temple, Congress leaders resort to shameless politics, branding it as “occult worship.” He criticized CM Revanth Reddy for having no concern whatsoever for agriculture or farmers’ hardships, alleging that for him, land means nothing more than real estate. He mocked the Chief Minister, claiming that officials switched on water pumps out of fear the moment they heard BRS leaders were headed to Palamuru, and that this CM would remain oblivious to farmers’ problems until “we prod him with a thorny stick.”
KTR strongly criticized the government for not having constructed even a single Indiramma house in Hyderabad so far, while simultaneously targeting the poor under the guise of HYDRA. He described Minister Ponguleti as a “30 percent commission minister” in the state. He alleged that the government is failing to even take note of the Andhra Pradesh government diverting Telangana’s water through the Pothireddypadu project, and declared that under KCR’s leadership, a large-scale movement on the scale of the Telangana statehood agitation would once again be launched to protect the state’s water rights.
