CM Revanth Reddy Pays Tribute to Ambedkar, Announces Reforms and Initiatives

On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s death anniversary, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution. He highlighted that Telangana was formed through Article 3 of the Constitution and assured that the state government continues to work in alignment with people’s aspirations. He reiterated his commitment to upholding Ambedkar’s ideals and described the state’s progress as a symbol of freedom for its citizens.

Merit-Based Police Appointments
CM Reddy emphasized the elimination of political interference in governance, particularly in the police department. Over 15,000 appointment orders have been issued based solely on merit, attracting even highly qualified individuals, including postgraduates and PhD holders. He noted the department’s proactive efforts in maintaining law and order and urged focused action to tackle cybercrime and drug trafficking.

Crackdown on Drugs and Cybercrime
The Chief Minister called for stringent measures to curb drug trafficking and ensure strict penalties for offenders through fast-track courts. He emphasized the need for specialized training to address the rising threat of cybercrime and warned that Telangana must remain a zero-tolerance state for drugs. Schools and colleges have been urged to implement measures to identify and eliminate drug-related issues.

Empowering the Transgender Community
In a move towards inclusivity, CM Reddy criticized past governments for neglecting the transgender community. He announced initiatives to integrate transgender individuals into traffic management roles, offering them stable employment and a promising future.

Boost for Home Guards
On the occasion of Home Guards Rising Day, the Chief Minister announced significant benefits for home guards. The daily allowance will be increased from Rs 921 to Rs 1,000, and the monthly parade allowance will be doubled from Rs 100 to Rs 200. Additionally, an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh will be provided in cases of natural or accidental deaths. These measures will come into effect from January.
