Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made shocking remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s caste. He claimed that Modi is not a true BC (Backward Class) but rather a “legally converted BC.” Revanth Reddy explained that until 2002, Modi belonged to a higher caste, and only after becoming the Chief Minister in 2001 did he join the BC category. He questioned why Modi did not advocate for caste enumeration earlier if he indeed identified as BC.
Revanth Reddy criticized the BJP’s attempts to manipulate caste data for political gain, particularly targeting Rahul Gandhi’s role in the process. He emphasized that if Modi had been a BC from birth, why was there no caste enumeration until now. He further expressed his commitment to conducting the caste enumeration lawfully and with transparency, stating that mistakes in caste enumeration would hurt the BC community.

Revanth also revealed plans to push forward with legislation to ensure caste enumeration, aiming to provide reservations based on accurate data. He condemned those questioning the integrity of the process and accused them of spreading false notions to confuse the public. He cited that the enumeration results, showing 56.33% of the population falling under weaker sections, were conducted systematically, and emphasized that Congress was fully committed to ensuring proper representation for marginalized groups.
He also addressed the misleading claims by former Telangana Chief Minister KCR and his family regarding caste data, warning the public to avoid false information and urging them to support the process of caste enumeration, which he described as a testament to Congress’s dedication to social justice.
