Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) of misrepresenting Telangana’s financial figures and accumulating significant debt during his tenure. Addressing the media on Monday, Revanth Reddy criticized both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging financial mismanagement under the previous government.

Revanth Reddy stated that his government would present the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report in the Assembly to expose financial irregularities. “In the last ten years, KCR has done nothing but accumulate debt and make mistakes,” he said. He also accused KCR and his family of arrogance, stating, “What does KCR have apart from pride? What is KTR’s stature?”

Revanth Reddy Targets KTR
The Chief Minister strongly criticized BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), questioning his political credibility. “Who is KTR? Where did he come from?” Revanth Reddy asked, claiming that KTR’s statements stem from frustration over losing power. He also remarked, “Criminals do not fear cases. If they did, they wouldn’t commit crimes. That is why KTR says he is not afraid.”

Revanth Reddy accused the opposition of insensitivity towards Telangana’s challenges. “When Telangana faces difficulties, they celebrate. When crops dry up, they rejoice. Is there anyone more ruthless?” he questioned.

Criticism Against Kishan Reddy
Revanth Reddy also targeted Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, questioning his claims of bringing the Metro Rail to Hyderabad. “Where is the Metro that Kishan Reddy brought? The only Metro visible today was developed under Jaipal Reddy,” he said. He challenged Kishan Reddy to secure central funds for Telangana and assured that he would honor him if he did so.

The Chief Minister further criticized the Union Minister for skipping an all-party meeting despite being in Secunderabad. “When invited for discussions, Kishan Reddy did not attend. Is he avoiding cooperation because KCR is no longer in power?” Revanth Reddy questioned.

BJP Accused of Favoritism
Revanth Reddy alleged that the BJP-led central government was treating states unequally. “Why was a bullet train sanctioned for Gujarat but not for Telangana?” he asked. He also challenged Kishan Reddy to debate Telangana’s tax contributions versus central allocations.

Reaffirming his commitment to securing Telangana’s interests, Revanth Reddy declared, “I will not go to Delhi just 39 times; I will go 99 times if necessary to ensure the state gets its due.”

The Chief Minister also attributed the allocation of more electoral tickets to Backward Classes (BCs) across parties to caste-based political calculations. Additionally, he blamed Harish Rao’s alleged political maneuvering for the party’s defeat in the Graduate MLC elections.
