Hyderabad’s Meerpet murder case has taken a shocking turn as forensic investigations reveal crucial evidence in the killing of Putta Venkata Madhavi, wife of Gurumurthy. A forensic team confirmed the presence of bloodstains on the wall and women’s footprints on the doormat at the crime scene. The Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory (TGFSL) conducted DNA tests on samples collected from Gurumurthy’s residence on Thursday under the supervision of Dr. G. Pandu. Authorities are considering sending DNA samples of Madhavi’s parents or children to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) through the court for further analysis.

Contradictions in Gurumurthy’s Statements

Police officials noted discrepancies between Gurumurthy’s statements and the findings from CCTV footage analysis. Surveillance footage from January 15 shows the couple entering their residence, but no evidence suggests Madhavi left afterward. However, during questioning on January 28, Gurumurthy reportedly confessed to killing his wife on January 16 following a heated argument. He allegedly described the sequence of events, stating that he first assaulted her before slitting her throat when she collapsed.

Further investigations revealed that he allegedly dismembered her body using a kitchen knife, boiled the remains in hot water, burned them on a stove, and ground the bones into powder to dispose of them. Some remains were flushed down the toilet. Police stated that this process lasted nearly 10 hours.

Forensic Analysis and Evidence Collection

To cover up the crime, Gurumurthy used detergent, phenyl, and acid to clean the house and remove traces of blood, forensic experts confirmed. Key evidence, including a stove, knife, grinding stone, bucket, water heater, cleaning equipment, and Madhavi’s clothes, has been seized. Investigators have also confiscated Gurumurthy’s mobile phones and motorcycle as part of the ongoing probe.
