Telangana Government to Launch Gaddar Cine Awards from Ugadi: Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has announced that the state government will introduce the Gaddar Cine Awards starting from the Ugadi festival. He stated that the initiative is part of the government’s commitment to supporting cinema artists and fostering cultural development.

Speaking at the Bhakta Ramadasu Jayanti celebrations at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized the government’s focus on promoting the arts. He noted that the previous administration had neglected the Nandi Awards for a decade, whereas the current government has taken the initiative to honor film artists by renaming the awards after the late revolutionary singer Gaddar. Additionally, he revealed plans to conduct drama competitions and recognize theater artists with awards.

Addressing the significance of Bhakta Ramadasu’s 392nd birth anniversary, the Deputy CM stated that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy aims to develop Telangana spiritually alongside its rapid economic progress. Telangana Sangeeta Nataka Akademi Chairperson Professor Alekhya Punjala stated that, following the Chief Minister’s directives, the Bhakta Ramadasu Jayanti celebrations were being organized on a grand scale. She further informed that 26 music troupes from across the state had registered for the event, with over 600 musicians participating in the celebrations.
