Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today raised serious concerns over three suspicious deaths in the state during an informal press interaction in Delhi. The deaths include film producer Kedar, advocate Sanjeev Reddy—who has been involved in the Kaleshwaram case—and Lingamurthy, a complainant in a related case.
Unanswered Questions and Pending Investigations
The Chief Minister suggested that Kedar’s death conceals a major mystery, noting that individuals involved in drug-related cases appear to be dying consecutively. He stated that if a formal complaint is registered regarding Kedar’s killing, the government will initiate an investigation. Revanth Reddy also mentioned that Kedar’s body is expected to arrive in India shortly, and he questioned the identity of a former MLA reportedly residing in Dubai. Moreover, he indicated that a comprehensive inquiry into the drug cases is imminent.
Allegations Against Political Leaders and Project Delays
Revanth Reddy further criticized state leaders by questioning why BRS leader KTR, who is allegedly a business partner of Kedar, has not demanded an investigation into the matter. He accused former CM KCR of sidelining key projects—specifically those related to the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC)—by allowing commission-related interests to delay work. On the Kaleshwaram project, he maintained that any action would be based solely on the findings of an expert committee, while expressing uncertainty about the conduct of by-elections under the current legislative system spanning from 2014 to 2024.
Centre-State Coordination and Allegations of Political Alignment
On the issue of national security, the CM asserted that it is the responsibility of the central government to secure the return of individuals implicated in phone-tapping cases from abroad. He criticized Union ministers for speaking without proper insight, questioning who will handle the extradition process. Revanth Reddy also accused Union Minister Kishan Reddy of obstructing the metro rail project from being presented before the Union Cabinet, while emphasizing that the responsibility for realizing the five key requests he had submitted to the Prime Minister rests with Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay. He promised public recognition for their efforts if these requests are fulfilled.
Metro Rail, Enforcement Directorate, and Future of SLBC
Highlighting past achievements, the CM credited the Congress government and former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy for bringing metro rail to Hyderabad. He noted that the High Court is currently monitoring the phone-tapping case, and he alleged that the BJP is attempting to merge the BRS through the use of CBI investigations. Revanth Reddy pointed out that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been involved in cases related to Formula E and the distribution of sheep, questioning why decisive action has not been taken by the ED. He clarified that his government does not engage in overnight arrests, emphasizing a measured approach to law enforcement.

Looking ahead, the Chief Minister assured that despite the challenges posed by multiple sub-contractors, the SLBC project will be completed 100% within the revised estimate of Rs 5,000 crore. He added that once completed, the project is expected to provide water to approximately 330,000 acres, with 11 organizations already engaged in the SLBC rescue operation.
Demands for Fair Fund Allocation
In concluding his remarks, Revanth Reddy affirmed the efficiency and autonomy of his cabinet ministers, lauding their expertise and dedication. He demanded that the Centre allocate funds to states in proportion to the taxes they contribute, stressing that Telangana must receive its rightful share of central resources.
This series of allegations and demands marks another chapter in the ongoing debate over governance and accountability in Telangana, with the CM’s statements likely to intensify scrutiny on both state and central administrative processes.
