APCC President YS Sharmila has once again taken to social media to criticize the Andhra Pradesh government, highlighting the severe agrarian crisis in the state. She accused the government of pushing farmers into debt and distress, pointing out that AP ranks third in the country for farmer suicides.
Expressing her concern, Sharmila stated that despite changes in governments, farmers’ conditions have remained unchanged. She lamented that hard-working farmers are not getting fair prices for their produce and alleged that no one in power is addressing their plight.

Recalling the tenure of former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy, she emphasized that under Congress rule, AP was hailed as “Annapurna” and became a model state for agricultural productivity. However, she criticized the current administration for failing to support farmers, citing that while vegetable prices are soaring in the market, farmers are unable to recover their investments, leaving many in financial ruin.
She further highlighted the struggles of chili and pigeon pea farmers, stating that their suffering has reached extreme levels. With no viable support, many farmers are being forced to burn their crops out of desperation.
