Hyderabad: The Hydra task force, established to remove illegal constructions on lakes and drainage channels in Hyderabad, has resumed its operations. Initially met with some criticism, the initiative is now progressing with public support. As a result, several affected residents have been approaching the Hydra office with their grievances, which are being addressed under the supervision of Commissioner AV Ranganath.
On Friday, based on complaints received, Commissioner Ranganath visited Ameenpur Municipality, where he inspected disputed plots and interacted with affected buyers. He reviewed the situation and assured the victims that their concerns would be resolved.

Exchange Between Commissioner and Supreme Court Lawyer
During the visit, a heated exchange took place between Commissioner Ranganath and Supreme Court lawyer Mukheem from Ailapur village. While Ranganath was addressing complaints, Mukheem intervened, questioning why the commissioner was inspecting cases that were already under judicial consideration. Presenting legal documents related to the plots, Mukheem remarked, “You can read Telugu, can’t you?”
Responding firmly, Ranganath stated, “I can read Telugu and much more. Just say what you have to say—don’t talk unnecessarily.” He further cautioned Mukheem, saying, “Don’t overact; you will only create trouble for yourself.”
Ranganath emphasized that Hydra was committed to protecting public properties and resolving citizens’ issues while adhering to legal procedures. He asserted that authorities were fully aware of judicial processes. Following his strong response, local residents applauded Ranganath, and a video of the exchange has since gone viral.
