Medak MP Raghunandan Rao has leveled significant allegations against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of a “quid pro quo” agreement with Megha Company. According to Raghunandan Rao, the Chief Minister is strategizing to allocate contracts worth thousands of crores to Megha by implementing a water diversion plan from Mallanna Sagar to the Musi River. He questioned the necessity of this project, suggesting that the Kondapochamma Project, which is located nearer to Hyderabad, would only require Rs 1,500 crores to supply water to the city, while the Mallanna Sagar route would incur expenses close to Rs 7,000 crores.
Raghunandan Rao argued that this choice indicates an attempt to channel an additional Rs 5,500 crores in public funds to Megha Company. He emphasized that Kondapochamma would provide a more economical alternative, yet the government has reportedly prepared a detailed project report (DPR) specifically for the Mallanna Sagar plan, hinting at possible preferential treatment toward Megha. Raghunandan Rao’s allegations highlight concerns about transparency and financial prudence in project planning, which he stated is a matter of significant public interest.
Moreover, Raghunandan Rao further alleged that Megha has already committed to advancing Rs 200 crores to construct a Skill University, which he claims is a pre-arranged benefit for CM Revanth Reddy.
